Bob Benson (The Beta Group)I was born in Michigan City Indiana and subsequently lived and went to school in Duluth, Minnesota, Salina Kansas, Joliet Illinois, and St Louis Missouri. I have a mother and younger brother and sister in Minneapolis Minnesota. I went to high school in Joliet, and graduated from Washington University in St Louis in engineering and law. I am married to Noreen Carrocci (Newman University,) and we have lived in St Paul Minnesota, Mobile Alabama, and now Wichita. We have two sons and three grandchildren from a prior marriage, who live in St Louis.
For the first thirty years of working I was a computer analyst (when computers were room-sized), university financial executive, CIO (chief information officer), dean, professor (teaching for forty years,) and researcher in information management. I am currently a part-time faculty member at a university in Holland, and teach there regularly. For the last fifteen years I have been a consultant in strategic planning, management systems, IT portfolio management, and IT project management. I’ve co-authored three books and many book chapters and articles, most recently over 100 on cutter.com, and have worked or lectured in forty states and twenty-one countries. My firm is The Beta Group, which is a strategic partner with the Cutter Consortium.
Actually, I started working as a darkroom technician while in the seventh grade. This fueled my photography interests; I estimate I’ve taken fifty thousand photographs in fifty years. I currently show work at Gallery XII and Upfront Gallery, on East Douglas. I read and review one hundred books a year and distribute a book and author ranking now covering nearly six hundred books. (Sadly, these are “pulp fiction” books, not completely serious.) I have been in over 2800 of the 3100 counties in the continental United States, and I expect to complete visiting all of them in the near future. Oh, and Noreen and I love golf and the blues. (One does wonder, though, when I’ll grow up ….)
Jamie Anderson (TkFast, Inc.)I have had many years of growing fondness and a yearning for involvement for Wichita, Kansas as I was born and raised here with a family of similar values. My early life was dedicated to the halls of the Goddard School District. Then more recently I graduated from Friends University, where I received my Bachelors in both Business Administration and Marketing.
Currently I spend my time chairing a Leads Group for the Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce, sitting on the Legislative Committee for the Wichita Area Builders Association, holding the Marketing Director title for a Masonic Service Youth Organization (International Order of the Rainbow for Girls), member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and enjoying my membership to YPW (Young Professionals of Wichita).
TkFast has helped me develop a lot of the skills acquired during my four year career in sales management and computer technology support for a top 100 retail store. I look forward to using my determination, leadership, and past experience to further the image the Rotarians hold in this community.
